Huddle Up is the third book in the Fantasy Football by Liz Matis and I really enjoyed reading it.I loved how Angel and Billy got a second chance in love and it was nice reading about characters from the first 2 books in the series.

This was the last story in a bundle that I didn't enjoy plus it was a 'second chance' on top of that. I don't like this plot in general but when it's combined with instalust, instalove and instadaddy then for sure it's a miss for me. This was all too lightly dealt with and so when the h freaks out over a random act of gambling instead one of the weightier issues, I wanted to throw my .
Huddle Up is the third in the series but the first that I have read and at the first chance I get I'm off to read the first two as the characters do appear but you can easily read this book as a standalone, but for me the characters drew me in so much that I want to find out more, and I can't wait for the next book in the series either.
Angel is the sort of heroine I like strong, sassy and able to take care of herself but soft enough for the right guy at the right time, Billy at the start comes across as a bit of a player but as the story progresses you can't help but fall for him, who wouldn't fall for a man who let's his daughter braid his hair and put a purple hair tie in it. Which brings us to Gabby who really is the star of the story just loved the way she was so natural and just like a five year old, and she will steal your heart.
I love second chance stories and this is a wonderfully written example of one, the situation is real and all the characters are believable and lovable.

This series must be listened to(or read) in order. The first book is Playing For Keeps. The second book is Going For It. This is the third book. I can't wait to listen to The Quarterback Sneak!
Billy always felt like he must have been inadequate in the bedroom and that is why Angel dumped him. What other reason could she have possibly had? He never got over her... Hasn't even had a real relationship since. Now she is demanding a paternity test and child support for a child that she says is his! If Gabriella is his why didn't she tell him she was pregnant?! If she is just after money... Why didn't she come after him when he signed his first profootball contract and started making the big bucks? Why wait five years and then some? Why now? The timing means the kid COULD be his... Does he stand a chance at making them a real family? Will he be able to win her back?
Angel would not be asking Billy for anything at all if she had a choice! Her degenerate gambler father (besides withholding affection her entire life and making her break up with Billy in the first place) died and left her with nothing and a huge debt ontop of it. To give Gabby any kind of life, she now has to ask the man who didn't want her or their child to do right by them. Will they be able to come to terms for Gabby's sake? Or will there be a long drawn out court battle for support and custody? Will be try to take Gabby away from her?

Huddle Up is an amazing love story. It shows the adversities that we face, and the baggage people bring into each other's lives. It shows the real life quality of how we all put our issues and experiences on the other people in our lives; especially the ones we make our heart vulnerable to. Then it shows the hard work it takes in admitting you are wrong and trying to work on yourself so you don't treat others unfairly. Angel and Billy are two amazing characters and when you add Gabby into the mix you just can't put the book down. You root the entire time for the couple to work out their issues. But the most impressive quality is that they never deny their love for each other, even though it terrifies them, and their amazing love and willingness to put their daughter first. They do what they think is best for her not what is best for them. The story never gets boring. Not one time did I want to put the book down. And I mean come on; who doesn't like a series that builds on itself. One that progress with unique problem for each charter and continues to carry each character from book to book. This is a fabulous way to include us in the lives of the lovable characters, and not leave us wondering what might of happened next. I hope you read and love this wonderful book as much as I did. One last great point is that each book can be read as a stand alone. You don't have to read the books before to follow the story due to the amazing character development.

Really enjoyed Huddle up. Not really a football fan but Liz Matis makes me forget that with her hero who has grown up and a heroine who has issues with him.
Liz Matis just keeps getting better and better ! The characters in Huddle Up are both engaging and endearing. The book explores how families, friends, and most importantly having a child together can influence the course of a romance. Throughout the story, the characters face many obstacles. You will root for them all the way and the ending will have you cheering like your favorite team just made a touchdown.
